Why yes, last year it was this. Now, I've moved on to better (and handsomer) things.
Honestly, this guy quotes Spurgeon, Keller and the Bible on his twitter feed. What other famous person does that? Seriously, please break up with your current girlfriend and marry me. {Kidding. But really.}
{And I was totally kidding about One Direction. Of course I still love like them, who wouldn't?}
I had been in position for all of 15 minutes when they arrived.
And then they sat in the car for 15 more minutes.
{At that point, I was pretty positive that my fingers had suffered frostbite. I mean, hello people!?!? I had been in 42ยบ weather for half an hour! Did I mention the 70mph wind too?}
Anyway, back to the story...
Justin and Audrey eventually decided to exit from their car and meander over to two chairs with blankets. {I found out later the reason for the delay of departure. Apparently, tights will ruin a man's plans.}
Both of them sat down with Starbucks in hand and began to talk. He then hands her a letter while shooting the death glare towards me. Lovely.
Anyway, during the next 45 minutes a girl and a guy's life were about to change significantly. And I had the privilege of documenting every single minute of it – Paparazzi Style.
Yes, ladies and gentleman. A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to witness the engagement of two very special people. And let me tell you, it was truly a remarkable event. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my Friday night!
{Side Note: See why they took so long getting out of the car? Yeah, he washed her feet. WITH warm water that I moved mountains to get. Okay, maybe not. The jug did almost melt though...}
When you repeat a certain phrase or idea in your head, it eventually sticks with you. It becomes a default setting. Well, the default setting in my brain still wanted me to believe that abortion was okay before 12 weeks. I was still trying to adjust the settings I had set in stone when I went to a special screening of the movie, "October Baby."
I was there for a school assignment + this-is-a-local-prolife-film-so-i'm-going-to-support-it.
The premise of the movie is about a girl named Hannah who finds out she is adopted after a failed abortion attempt. She then, along with her friend Jason, sets out to find her birth mother.
Here's the trailer for the movie so you get a picture of what I'm talking about.
Well, I cried more than I ever have. The movie impacted my life in numerous ways. The default setting had finally changed. No longer was I trying to convince my brain to change its mind, it just happened. So, I saw it opening weekend and the weekend after Easter. {smile}
This video shares a story that made me cry like a baby. Y'all, the scene she talks about towards the end is so powerful!
And that concludes my story of how I became pro-life. It wasn't an easy journey. But, I'm so thankful the LORD led me through it.
